Day 1: Hanoi - Ky Son (L, D)
At 8am your tour guide will pick you up at the lobby of the hotel and transfer you to Moon Garden Homestay. You will arrive at Moon Garden Homestay in Ky Son village and have a welcome drink with local fresh green tea. You'll have free time for discovering Moon Garden Homestay and Ky Son village by yourself and you can have a a cooking class and enjoy what you have prepared.
ctivities in the afternoon include spa and leisure biking. Then, you will have free time for relaxing or further conversation with the host family about local snacks, sharing cultures and learning about traditional customs. If you want to learn Vietnamese, one of the family members can teach you some basics to get you started!
You can take a bicycle ride to discover the Ky Son, Tam Son, Van Minh, and Cham farming communities and stop at any home you like for a cup of tea. You may also visit the kinder garden (if open). You can help with plowing or making rice beds, transplanting seedlings, harvesting rice (or cassava, corn, sweet potatoes...) depending on the harvest season, collecting tea and all medicinal herbs needed for your steam bath later in the afternoon and the foot spa in the late evening.
You'll return to the Moon Garden for happy hour (you will be offered some kind of local tisane). While waiting for your steam bath to be prepared, you can enjoy local drinks and taste some of the local products.
After a traditional, refreshing steam bath with fragrant herbs (lemon grass, pomelo leaves, holy basil leaves) You will have dinner at your leisure. You will observe the evening worship, and enjoy your foot bath in warm water with ginger, salt and mugwort medicinal herbs before bedtime, which brings you to deep sleep at the end of an eenriching day.
Day 2: Ky Son - Duong Lam Ancient Village- Ky Son (B, L, D)
In the morning you will pray to Buddha or mediate in the form Yijinjing traditional exercises with the help and practice of the host. The host prepares breakfast for you and the you then participate in burning votive money and gold for the deceased persons, which is a traditional ritual here.
You will bike ride along the ritual paths of Thang Thac village with a local guide to discover the Ngo Quyen Tomb, Phung Hung Temple, Duong Lam Ancient Village, and Mia Pagoda. Then return to the house for a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go fishing or walking by yourself around Ky Son village for further discovery, interacting with the locals to learn about their daily life. You can visit the kinder garden (closed on Sat, Sun, and holidays). Or you can make yourself at home relaxing on the hammock in our gardenand taking pictures with Vietnamese traditional clothes. You will have a restful night in the rustic village.
Day 3: Ky Son - Hanoi (B)
Start with praying to Buddha (this praying style is considered an exercise)
Breakfast will be served, and you then participate in burning votive money and gold for the deceased.
You will enjoy free time until transfer back to your hotel in Hanoi or to your next destination.
