Bac Bien Pagoda in Hanoi
Bac Bien Pagoda (An Xa or Phuc Xa Pagoda) is situated in Bac Bien hamlet, Ngoc Thuy commune, Gia Lam district. Visitors can cross either Long Bien Bridge by bicycle, or Chuong Duong Bridge by motorbike or car to reach Gia Lam town let, then turn left to go along the dyke. It is around 8km from Sword Lake to the pagoda.
It was built on a plot of land 2,880m2 in area. In front of it is a lotus pond. On the bell of the pagoda there is an inscription about the merits of Marshal Ly Thuong Kiet (1019-1105) a great militant and diplomat under the Ly Dynasty.
